Object-relational database - An object-relational database (ORD) or object-relational database management system (ORDBMS) is a relational database management system that allows developers to integrate the database with their own custom data types and methods. The term object-relational database is sometimes used to describe external software products running over traditional DBMSs to provide similar features; these systems are more correctly referred to as object-relational mapping systems.
Secondary database server - A secondary database server or SDS is a database server that is kept in synchronisation with the main database so that if the main database goes offline, the secondary database server can be used instead. This is important for a live system that must be online 24 hours a day, and most DBMS systems that support SDSs are capable of automatically detecting and switching to the secondary server within seconds of the main server going offline.
Universal database - A universal database would be a database which would be capable of storing any type of data of any type of universe (real or virtual) as well as all the data relationships without ever having to change or modify the basic structure of the database itself. Data alone would determine the relationships (such as that which the relational database model determines through the use of a schema).
Database abstraction layer - A database abstraction layer, is an Application Programming Interface or separate piece of software which is used by a program to communicate with a database such as MySQL or Oracle. The purpose of a database abstraction layer is to change the way another program communicates with a database.

FCC is an independent agency, directly responsible to Congress, that regulates most U.S. mass communications - radio, television, wire, satellite and cable.
